Ok I know I'm late with this but hell this is my first blog in like 4-5 months. When I watched this it made me feel all angry and almost made me cry too. Keith Olbermann is so right on about all this whole nonsense. And that's what it is considering it's been legal in Canada for 4 years now and the country has neither descended into hell nor imploded. In fact in the past 4 years we've elected a conservative government (ok a minority govt and no i didn't vote for them). One nice thing to see is how many straight people are angry this passed. Also there's talk that it might be overturned :)
Anyways here's Keith telling it like it is

The Girl You Lost TO Cocaine

For the past 3 months as I was working during the wee morning hours they'd have the one of the digital music channels playing at the casino. I'm surprised at how many songs I've heard and later found who did them and was like "I've heard of them and had no idea that was them doing that song" One in particular i liked but could never figure out what it was called, in fact all i could make out was "walking away" Well tonight I actually found it and once again it's by somebody I've heard of and should have recognized the voice

It's Sia - The Girl You Lost to Cocaine
(don't worry about the rather odd video, it's the song that's fantastic)

I knew the voice sounded familiar. It's because she did "Destiny" With Zero 7

Actually Madonna even mentioned her in an interview how much she liked her music. Another cool thing according to her wiki entry she's dating JD Samson of Le Tigre

It's weird how many songs I've heard at work that I didn't even know I liked let alone existed.

On a side note, there's a chinese card dealer that works at my casino named Ting Ting (I'm serious). Every time someone mentions her name I start singing the Ting Tings song "That's not my name" in my head LOL

I know it's been a loooooooong time since i blogged (like 3 1/2 months) but this pic might explain one of the many reasons why I haven't

That being said I promise I'll be bringing the bloggy goodness more often LOL
Pugs
Well first of all I'm a creature of the night not because I got bit by a vampire or anything but because I'm working graveyard shifts for the next 3 months. Actually it's not that bad, I did it for a month in November and it went by really quick so hopefully this will too.

As to why I'm an asshole, well apart from the usual reasons I did say i was going to do a blog post last week and even know I'm barely doing one. You know the excuses, procrastination blah blah, have lots to say but don't know how to say it blah blah, like i said the usual LOL Not that I don't have lots to say, I mean I do want to mention how my life did a fucking 180 in 2007 and how if you'd told me where my life would have less than 6 months later I would have laughed and thought "gonna shave your head like britney? Cause you're obviously batshit crazy"

Anyways like I said this isn't going to be a super in depth blog and yes I will try to write more in my blog as i I miss writing in my blog and believe me I'm constantly thinking, sometimes to the point I feel like my heads going to burst (well a lot of it is worrying and over thinking as some people put it) and it does help let it all out. LOL ok that makes me sound a tad psychotic but it more like cathartic.

So I'm leaving you with another song which i LOVED in the very very early 90's, a band who actually inspired Nirvana. The song also features Chuck D from Public enemy! Oh but when I read comments from kids saying "Oh hey this song was better when I heard it in Guitar Hero 3" it kinda hurts my heart and a little piece of me dies inside :( (Well it makes me feel old at least LOL )

Yes the title is meant to be somewhat sarcastic since I haven't posted to my blog since just before the new year and Tony is surprised people are reading his blog even though he updates fairly regularly and is always fun to read. I'll be surprised if anyone even is aware of mine. Even worse all I'm going to do for now is post a video LOL I do love this Unplugged version of Hole's Old Age. I remember watching it back when I was 21!! and I loved it...I still do :) Enjoy

Oh and Ps I'll try to have an actual real blog post by the end of the day. You have been warned.

I'm a day late but what else is new, but there will be more blogging to come in the next couple of days. And a definite New Years resolution to blog way more frequently (once every other month is not enough). May your Turkey dinner from last night not be trying to peck it's way out today and may your boxing day shopping involve as little bloodshed as possible (but if if not make sure it's theirs not yours lol)

Courtney Shows Britney Hows it's done

I love "Violet" - Hole, I loved the video too. Actually watching it reminded me of (current trainwreck) Britney...hell it even reminds me of of the video for Gimme More. Nice try Brit but Courtney does it so much better and more honest (i mean did she ever hide the fact she partied and was strung out on Heroin for most of the 90's?) and she did it with a snarl and a middle finger to just about everybody.
Oh and this kinda fits how I've been feeling today

Blonde Birthday Wishes

Almost every year since around 1990 I've played this song on my birthday. Don't see why this year should be any different.

As for how my birthday has been, on the good side I've really felt the love this year as lots of friends, family (well, I got a card from both my mom and my grandma both of whom are the hospital) and of course Tony who totally outdid what I did for his B-day (the bum ;) and it was super sweet and romantic (in a totally good, make my heart melt way) on the down ; I'm sick, I worked till 1am last night and worked at 10 am this morning (man I'm tired) and I'm completely broke. I have enough to splurge on a cake but I'm thinking why bother, I have cold and won't be able to really taste it anyways. oh yeah and the weather is miserable...actually that's pretty much a usual birthday for me lol.

Wasting my time, Cause I Feel Good Baby

Here's some songs I love that have been running through my head lately and no despite it being stuck in my mind, Britney's new song isn't here. We all have her infamous performance etched into our heads already LOL. Oh and almost none of these are dance songs shockingly enough

First one, this definitely not dance music. I remember seeing this Smashing Pumpkins video on Muchmusic and my jaw dropping, not only was it fucking great video, it was a fucking great song too. And this was when I was deep into the disco lol. I admit though it's hard to pick one, cause I love "Zero" just as much. I actually like Smashing pumpkins V.2 new song "Tarantula" but this still beats it. I like this song if only for the first line "The world is a vampire, set to drain" Yes, Yes it is...oh yeah and Billy has hair. I hate bald billy, what's he got against hair anyways

You've most likely heard the cover versions of "Feeling Good" but Nina Simone's version is the best. You feel like she's really singing from her gut. A painful sounding song about happiness sounds like my kind of song. I was hoping they would have a live performance but they didn't instead I used this amateur one done by a guy from england who shot this with an old fashioned camera.

Next up I recently remembered how much I loved this song : Zero 7 "In the Waiting Line". It's electronic but down tempo. Kinda sad (video and song) but who said I was all light and happiness?

I always liked Stone Temple Pilots and they have a lot of great songs but for some reason I love "Big Bang Baby" . Haven't a clue what they're trying to say in the video though some of it's funny in a weird sort of way. Hell I'm not even sure what the song's about lol. But I love it anyways...it's the yellow pants, that's what clinched it for me.

Ok one last one. I told you I couldn't pick one and it's my blog so there. I think I just love the intensity and who can't love a song with the line "God is empty, just like me"

Me as a Simpson? A mess at the nuclear plant...I didn't do it! Ok Ok I know this thing is like a month old but ever since the boyfriend put up his 3 weeks ago, I've been trying (and failing) to get the website to work :( but here it is yay! Yes I know it's a sad excuse for a blog post since I've had tons been happening and lots to blog about, not to mention pics of my beautiful view and and pics of Gay pride. It's like I said before, the more that happens the less I tend to blog about it. And god knows I like to talk, like my roomie Aaron says "Babble On Kevina" ;)

So coming up: Pride Parade pics, home pics and the last 3 weeks in Vancouver/New Westminster in a nutshell...promise... hopefully

PS check out Tony's blog for a hilarious blog entry that even feature's moi :D

Who knew making a video blog would be so much work. Between many interruptions, visits from Tang, and the battery of my cam dying I finally pieced it together. Worse I kept screwing up, which is why I used the funnier ones and made an outtakes vid. Still somehow I found a way to say a whole lot of nothing lol

and of course the outtakes

Oh Morrissey. I admit I don't know all that much about though I like that Smiths song "How Soon Is Now" and my boyfriend loves him. And even though I'm a die hard Madonna fan this made me laugh :

An angry Morrissey reportedly slammed Madonna at his concert last night in Norfolk, Virginia: "I wouldn't be surprised if she [Madonna] made that African boy into a coat and wore him ... for 15 minutes, and then threw it away."

Got Vlog # 2 done today. I have to admit it's addicting and of course I just love the sound of my own voice (and yes that was heavy sarcasm) I didn't realize it ran for 12 minutes, I actually wanted to do a short one. As you can see at the end I actually had a few things I wanted to mention so god only knows how long I'd spout off if you let me ;)

Here's part clocking in at 9:19

Here's Part 2 only 3 minutes this time

and an outtake from the first one, it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a telemarketer phoning me

For some reason I thought this was short even though it clocks in at over 3 min. Now watch as I say lots of "Ums" "ers" and lots of long boring pauses. Watch as I mumble and ramble my way through and look at the ceiling a lot, boy that ceiling was interesting. So brew yourself a strong cup of coffee (you'll need it) and enjoy

People That Spoil Things Need To Die

Yeah you heard me. Hell I even hate being spoiled about a movie I probably won't watch but maybe I will and it's an important plot twist. Now I admit I've gone and spoiled things for myself, but that was my choice, and yeah sometimes people accidentally spoil things especially if the movie's been out awhile (like when my coworkers were blabbing about one of the main plot twist in the movie "Saw"). What I'm talking about is when something has just come out or worse hasn't even come out and they spoil it.

So where is this rant coming from? I was going through one of the Livejournal communities and in someone's fucking USERPIC on one of the comments was a flashing main plot spoiler for the new Harry Potter book. Now I'm not a Harry Potter fanatic but I was hoping to read it spoiler free. I knew I had to read it as soon as it came out just to avoid assholes from spoiling it for me. But for fuck's sakes, it hasn't even come out yet. And no my life isn't going to end because I know but all this person accomplished is telling me they're an asshole. It isn't even about being spoiled, it's about assholes taking immense pleasure in taking the fun out of maybe being surprised when I sit down to enjoy something. Congratulations Fucktard I bet there's a corner of hell reserved just for you.

You know I've only had this blog for almost 4 years and I've always wanted a blog roll. I went to Blogrolling but wasn't sure how really to add it to livejournal. Then I realized just know I've always had the ability to add links to other blogs. Whoops.
